Krishnamurti School Initiative

“Education in the true sense is helping the individual to be mature and free, to flower greatly in love and goodness. That is what we should be interested in, and not in shaping the child according to some idealistic pattern.”

—KRISHNAMURTI

As one explores the teachings and sincerely looks into the nature of the present world, there is a sense of disgrace that cannot be put aside and handover this awful mess as it is to the future generation.

From that sense of responsibility, despite understanding that immense priority is of the inside world, there seems to be a commitment that has enabled many interested people to come together to start learning spaces where inquiry is central. A space where one learns about the totality and the wholeness of life. Can an understanding of our mind bring about a change in the human consciousness?

There are K-Schools that have struggled to make ends meet and have in time become self-sustaining, but this is not the case for all K-Schools.

There are many people who are keen to start learning spaces that are centred in K’s teachings. When such interested people come together with this intent, a revolution has taken place. These interested groups do benefit from financial support to meet their functional needs.

Can a support group come together to help maintain an atmosphere of austerity while meeting the needs of the place so that the functional struggles do not dissipate the energy of the core members of such endeavours? Can we create a financial support group that encourages interested individuals to dedicate their lives to the teachings?

Is it not the responsibility of each one of us to make sure that the teachings are not just read, but lived and explored with our children? Such an initiative is only possible in a spirit of cooperation. Can each one of us contribute with an on-going monetary commitment that is within our means? Start with whatever amount possible, on a monthly / quarterly / yearly mode, so that this Initiative can serve as a spine for such K-Schools?
